Electricity Infrastructure Group UK and its subsidiaries have attained the ISO 14001 standard for their shared environmental management system (EMS).
Achievement of the standard – together with our ISO 9001 accreditation – means sustainability, quality and health and safety are deeply embedded in every project we undertake.
The internationally recognised ISO 14001 standard ensures a process-driven approach to ensure businesses properly discharge their environmental responsibilities, minimise their impacts and protect their surroundings and the wider world through legal and regulatory compliance and industry best practice.
ISO 14001 certification reaffirms our commitment to conserve and protect the communities in which we live and work, and aligns with the government’s stated aim to achieve a net zero economy by 2050.
Audits conducted six months apart by the UKAS accredited British Assessment Bureau found our EMS to be fully compliant with the standard, with no major or minor non conformances recorded.
This followed our annual ISO 9001 audit in February, which for the fifth year running also gave Electricity Infrastructure Group UK and its subsidiaries a clean bill of health for the policies, procedures and continuous improvement mechanisms which form its quality management system.
Senior Bid & Group Compliance Manager, Geoff Covey, said:
“We are thrilled to have secured ISO 14001 certification and to have once again achieved the ISO 9001 standard, which is a testament to the effectiveness of our operating practices and our ongoing commitment to strive for excellence in everything we do. Thank you to British Assessment Bureau for their support and attention to detail throughout”.
