Some of our work
SOS Synergy has been involved in a large variety of projects across the UK. Below are some of the projects we have participated in over the last decade.
Westfield – White City
In vibrant and bustling West London, White City is a major regeneration of the area that offers an incredible 1,800 new homes as well as a five-acre park, eight acres of landscaping and features a world-class leisure facility with pool, gym, cinema and concierge.
At SOS Synergy, we were proud to be awarded as the electrical contractor for Phase 1, 2 and 3 of the project in White City. Here is what we have completed so far through Westfield Phase 1;
White City Phase 1 – External Lighting
The team at SOS have enjoyed being an integral part in the development of White City. In keeping with the luxury and contemporary feel of the project as well as the welcoming nature and community spirit that the development wants to inspire, SOS began the project by assisting with a concept lighting design for the communal areas.
Covering an extensive area, the lighting designs had to consider illuminating water features and seating areas. Furthermore, all pathways needed to be well-lit for the safety of pedestrians. The task was to not only make the communal areas feel safe and welcoming but also ensure the lighting is stylish and in keeping with the contemporary, yet natural feel to the area.
Focusing on style, safety, and energy-efficiency, SOS set to work on assisting on a beautiful concept design, taking into consideration all of the requirements set by the Berkeley Group, the business responsible for the White City development.
Once approved, our team of electrical engineers quickly began work on the lighting as well as installing small power and sub mains where necessary. Finally, the work was finished with a smart lighting control system from which these stunning external lights could be operated and adjusted as needed.
We look forward to working again at White City in the next phase of the development.

Holland Estate
The historic and iconic Holland Estate in the East End is home to more than 600 residents. The estate consists of several blocks of flats which include Brune House, Bernard House and Carter House has been home to many generations of families.
SOS Synergy was pleased to work across Holland Estate to improve the building for the benefit of the residents, making the estate a safer place to live. To start the task, our team began with concept design. We needed a design and plan that we could deliver on a tight schedule to ensure minimal disruption to the residents at Holland Estate.
When our design plans were approved, our hard-working team got to work in installing brand new lateral mains, small power, communal lighting, and intercom systems across the estate.

The Society of Authors
The Society of Authors serves as a UK trade union, covering everyone in the literary profession from writers to illustrators and translators. Members of the organisation receive full support and free unlimited advice while the Society itself works hard to campaign for all of the issues that affect UK authors.
With improvements required for the historic building that is home to the headquarters of the Society of Authors, SOS Synergy were tasked with the fantastic job of a luxury fit-out for the five floors of offices as well as enhancing the central meeting areas and conference rooms.
With our expertise in lighting design, SOS took charge of the whole installation. The brief was to ensure the high-end lighting matched the beauty of this historic building while making sure to provide a safe and comfortable working atmosphere.
To meet the brief, it was essential to draw up a comprehensive Concept Design, making sure all elements of the building, style and practical aspects were covered. Once approved, the team began work on the electrical works.
The luxury fit-out comprised of sub mains, lighting and small power installation, as well as safety features such as CCTV, emergency lighting, intercom and fire alarm systems. To help improve the energy efficiency of the building, SOS included a metering and energy management solution into the concept design.
To finish the project, we included a lighting control system, to ensure the Society of Authors can alter the lighting depending on their events. Furthermore, we installed data and networking to improve general workplace operations.
It was a great project to be a part of and a pleasure to work in such a historic building for a fantastic organisation.

St Albans Girls' School
At SOS Synergy, we don’t just complete commercial and residential electrical projects, we also work across the public sector, collaborating with local authorities to enhance civic properties and spaces. Recently, we have completed an extensive project at a school in St Albans.
The space was a separate building, built next to the existing learning area of the school. With this blank space, the SOS team were tasked with concept design and installation to create a practical learning environment.
SOS began the project by creating our design for the school. After approval, we began planning the installation. There were many aspects to consider, for a start, we had to enhance the learning environment with lighting solutions and data and networking provision. However, we also had to ensure the safety of the space for the teachers and students. This included fitting a fire alarm system, CCTV and security as well as emergency lighting.
With eco-friendly solutions being high on the list of priorities for many of our clients, we make sure to include innovative designs that are better for the environment. With this school project, we also designed and installed a metering and energy management solution to improve the carbon footprint for the school.
With lots to consider, and knowing the use of the space, we made sure everything we included was hard-wearing, reliable and as a safe as possible to make this learning space as user-friendly and functional as possible.

One London Bridge
When it comes to festive illuminations, there’s no better place to visit than London. From the iconic Christmas lights on Oxford Street, Christmas at Kew and Carnaby Christmas illuminations, there is lots to see, but perhaps nothing is quite as magical as the twinkling Christmas lights along the River Thames.
At SOS Synergy, we are proud to be the electrical contractor of choice for the Christmas lighting at the prime London location of One London Bridge.
One London Bridge
One London Bridge is a central area of tourism situated on the river. It is a popular place for tourists as they journey along the riverside as well as being a hub of activity with offices and nearby shops, restaurants, cafes and residential units.
Creating Christmas Lights At One London Bridge
Our clients at One London Bridge requested SOS Synergy to help with the design concept and the install of spectacular Christmas lighting for 2019. We began by assisting with the concept design based on the client’s requirements and vision for the space. This concept design had to incorporate projections onto the column on One London Bridge while Christmas lighting was required for a Christmas-themed display by the river.
With the designs approved, we began work with installing general lighting, which included lights over cabins on the riverside and lighting that looked like a snow-capped roof. With the string lights between the streetlights and the illuminated trees, the whole area blended seamlessly together.
The column at One London Bridge also had a large projection on the side for pedestrians to see. We love the whole look of this festive project, especially with the iconic Tower Bridge and HMS Belfast in the background!

Kidbrooke Village and Kite Park
At SOS Synergy, we love working on projects that benefit the community. Working in communal spaces and transforming public spaces with beautiful and practical lighting is our expertise. We were delighted to work again with Berkeley Group in transforming the communal areas of their latest residential development, Kidbrooke Village.
About Kidbrooke Village
Situated in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Kidbrooke Village is a new community development. While being in the busy and popular area of London, Kidbrooke Village is designed to have a strong community presence and village atmosphere. The village consists of four different neighbourhoods, all of which blend seamlessly, thanks to the village centre. Kidbrooke Village also has its own on-site station and surrounded by over 86 acres of open parkland.
Lighting design at Kidbrooke Village
SOS were tasked with designing and implementing ambient lighting throughout the communal garden areas of Kidbrooke Village. With water features, seating areas and even a multi-use games area as well as a play area, Kite Park, it meant we had to consider a lot of different lighting styles including pitch lighting as well as ensuring safety for the users.
Furthermore, as Kite Park is an additional area to North Cator Park, we had to make sure the designs complemented each other and linked together flawlessly.
With a design in place, complete with ambient lighting, to enhance the greenery, trees and foliage of the area as well as coloured lighting for the water features, we began work installing all of the different lighting options. Small power and sub mains were also required throughout the extensive communal area as well to serve the lights and meet the requirements of the communal area.
Finally, our work at Kidbrooke Village and Kite Park was finished with a lighting control system, ensuring that the lighting could be adjusted and changed as needed while providing energy efficiency.

Hilton Syon Spa Restaurant
Set in the illustrious Hilton Syon Park in Brentford, the Syon Park Spa Restaurant is truly a space to unwind and stock up on some much-needed rest and relaxation. While in close proximity to the bustling city centre, the Syon Park Spa Restaurant feels utterly remote and secluded as it is set in extensive and beautiful grounds that belong to the Duke of Northumberland.
In order to give this relaxing space, the ambient feel that it needed, SOS Synergy were instructed to come up with an innovative lighting design that reflected the contemporary design of the space with a calming spa-style tranquillity as well as meeting the needs as a busy restaurant. The lighting design needed to capture and highlight the stylish design of the restaurant and ensure that each table felt like an intimate setting.
Once we had designed the perfect lighting design for the space, the team then installed both the general and emergency lighting as well as creating a practical, easy to use lighting control system to ensure the staff could set the mood of the restaurant accordingly.

A recent project for SOS Synergy was to improve the lighting around Barnet Station. The area of focus was previously unlit making it incredibly hazardous for pedestrians and an unsafe environment.
As a result, the client asked SOS to deliver a concept design that would ensure the unlit area was provided with suitable lighting and to ensure the pathway leading to and from the station en-trance was safe and comfortable for pedestrians.
After the concept design was approved, we got to work with general lighting installation. We selected lighting that was reliable and economical and would provide sufficient illumination to keep the area safe while ensuring it was in keeping with the environment and wouldn’t cause light pollution for nearby residents.
