As part of our commitment to achieve net zero status by 2050, SOS has partnered with Carbon Neutral Britain to help measure our carbon impacts over time, as recorded in our Carbon Reduction Plan.
Using Carbon Neutral Britain’s emission data collection tool, our carbon impact in the year to August 2024 was 56.02 tonnes of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e).
This takes into account all of our operations, from utilities use and vehicle emissions to deliveries received and waste generated.
SOS has offset its carbon footprint by contributing towards Carbon Neutral Britain’s Climate Fund on a per tCO2e basis. The Climate
Fund supports internationally certified carbon offsetting projects around the world, such as natural energy and alternative utility use schemes.
Omer Atuf, SOS Managing Director, said:
“Working with Carbon Neutral Britain will help us realise our ambitions to become net zero by raising awareness of the baselines contributing to our tCO2e and providing yearly targets to ensure continued success.
Becoming certified as a carbon neutral business is an important and welcome first step on this journey, and we are delighted to be working with Carbon Neutral Britain to support such important work globally”.
